FIGHT

In or out of love, in or out of hate

There is nothing to agree, nothing to debate

Waste all time with an attempt to escape

Drowning above water pulled in by fate

Inhale this life this intoxicating love

Watch hopes live like a dying dove

Never looked for Him here there or above

His caring fits like someone else’s glove

Cast the shadow, hide the light

Allow everyone to see the truth in spite

Beg hard for mercy beg more for a smite

Pain inflicted is the only thing deserved

This road is getting too damn curved

Needing is nothing want is what lives

So little to share and so little to give

All I want is to beg her to forgive

I’ll be honest and say I can’t move on

She never did forgive and just showed up gone

I hate to need anything but the Lord

But what you’re holding is cutting like a sword

Your name in turn is supposed to mean Grace

Please shed some on me face to face

I feel so wrong in so many different ways

And because of that I haven’t done it right in days

Be better and show some mercy or even pity

I’ll show you something great if you open your eyes to see

Wow this is both scary and powerful. You sound angry with the one who grants us mercy. Hurt by the one who shows no mercy , and ready to fall into that all too familiar trap of the one who pretends to have mercy and is the father of all lies. Be careful you have such a wonderful gift of your poet's pen let it be one of your sources of comfort and joy.

I have many friends that read everything I write, and none of them have come close to understanding this. It is amazing how a person I do not really know can understand something I write better than people I have known all my life. Thank You.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
