    Just to Know

I will love you 'til the days run cold.
I will love you 'til the sun lives no more.
To see your golden face looking at me
and smile with all the warmth of your being.
Those moments I long for in these solitary days.
To feel your lips and know their taste,
would be a pleasure that could float me to the moon.
To know that your heart longs for me,
    as mine does yours,
that would be a wish come true
in the silence of this night.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
