    Island of Color

    Silhouettes of dancing neon

Tap their tune against a black backdrop

Chandeliers like the great falls of Victoria

Grace the palaces of decadent decor

Robots with faces minus the details

Shuffle and give and take away more

Clinking and clanging and crashing of coins

Hoping to win what's never been won

    Emotions exploding with desperate serenity

Jeering than cheering with each new turn

Hit the right card play with the house

Spin the great wheel and pray for the dice

From paupers to princes like locust they rush

To the island of color in the sea of beige dust

Having been there only once in 83 the comparisons still are so on the money. Your ability to so plainly bring out this weakness in all of us to hope for the nearly impossible is keen. i love the description of sin city.

love your play on colors and subjects

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
