    Farewell

When I looked into your eyes

I saw your soul searching for the truth

And in your search you crossed my path

    And touched upon my life

As quickly as you came, you left

And my memory of you will be

Like the shifting sand of time

When the last grain has fallen

I have but to reflect upon

    Those moments shared

And I understand the meaning of

    Having contributed and received

    The rarest gift of all

A bond of love that stretches

    Like a golden thread

    Through time and space

    Farewell

I truly enjoyed reading your poem, it showd intelligence and it was heart filled, Thanks for sharing

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
