If to Hell You Go
It's through our eyes that we reveal
what we think and truly feel;
so clever, your talent to conceal;
the face that you first displayed wasn't real.
Your eyes once danced with warmth, firelight;
held not a clue to the pain you'd ignite
Sugar sweet kisses turned to bitter sharp bite;
never a second of thought to my plight.
Your gaze once held mine in soft, loving kindness,
now I'm ashamed of my own wretched blindness.
Face turned to stone, showing nothing but falseness;
while scars that envelope my heart will be timeless
Destroying my life was your primary goal;
I can see my shattered heart and the pride that you stole,
for they're hung like bright medals, pinned upon your blackened soul;
and even though, if to hell you go, my heart still pays the toll.
what we think and truly feel;
so clever, your talent to conceal;
the face that you first displayed wasn't real.
Your eyes once danced with warmth, firelight;
held not a clue to the pain you'd ignite
Sugar sweet kisses turned to bitter sharp bite;
never a second of thought to my plight.
Your gaze once held mine in soft, loving kindness,
now I'm ashamed of my own wretched blindness.
Face turned to stone, showing nothing but falseness;
while scars that envelope my heart will be timeless
Destroying my life was your primary goal;
I can see my shattered heart and the pride that you stole,
for they're hung like bright medals, pinned upon your blackened soul;
and even though, if to hell you go, my heart still pays the toll.
