I Have a Ficus

I Have a Ficus

I Have Ficus

It's name is Fred.
Fred the Ficus
planted in a pot
in my kitchen window
near the bread.

In Russian they call it "Feekus"
(which I thought sounded gross);
but it's the only plant I've got
and, whatever its name
or classification,
I'd say we're close.

I give it C02 and water
and it gives me air:
two living things
on this planet
that share.

Congo, I love this unique little poem about your ficus. You might enjoy a goofy poem I have posted about an air mattress, titled: Life on an Air Mattress. ginga

I like the whole poem, but the first and last stanzas are really quite exceptional. Nice job.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
