A Poem A Day

It's not like we don't have enough to do

It's not like we don't have too much on our plate

It's not like there isn't all the time in the world

It's not like we can write a poem a day

Times aren't as good as they used to be

Times weren't always this way

We weren't always this confused

Times weren't always so scattered

Love wasn't always so bemused

It's not like we don't know the course

It's not like we haven't lived long enough

It's not like we don't plan ahead

But we know that times will always be tough

But never so tough

We've not had enough

As long as we can write

a poem a day

I like this poem. Very optimistic! Where you put a poem a day, I would put kneel and pray. But, that's just me and it's wonderful just the way it is. The repetition in it lulls one gently along...nice.

very soul lifting. sometimes we need to look inwards ourselves to discover what is missing on the outside. finding ones purpose in life is very important especially in these recent times. i like the use of repetition for emphasis. imagery, good. you should read my "relics of my life". nice job pal

I am not quite following this content. Perhaps, you should be a little more clear with your writing. Yu keep repeating the same lines over and over, and it becomes somewhat boring.

It is somewhat inconsistent from the beginning to the end, but I like this one and its repetition. For me it is like a long stuck sticky note on the refrigerator, reminding me that writing is worthy - - and to do it everyday.

It's just blah blah blah, but I had fun writing it. Which is the important part anyway! Thanks! The only way I can really come down from life is to write. I think it is the same with you. Writing is cathartic, important, and bigger than an individual. It is maybe the most powerful thing humans have invented.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
