    Everyday

Daddy, you didn't come home tonight
I awoke around eleven to the sound of your fight.
Mommy was furious, I could hear it in her voice.
Why didn't you call? You did have a choice.

Daddy our family's breaking up, I see it more each day
but I don't think you care, you just want it all your way.
Mommy will not have it though, and she cries most every night.
She knows our family's torn apart but she cannot make it right.

Daddy will you fix it, or will you walk away?
When you leave remember, a price you'll have to pay.
It's easy to place blame on mommy and us girls,
but I hope you hurt from all the pain you caused, each and everyday.

I liked it, I grew up much the same way. Keep with your heart when you write

I felt this one. Mainly because I lived it. I stayed, their mom left. This was well done from a child's point of view. TS

very emotive! candidly flowing from a wounded heart!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
