    Poem Commentary

I wrote this for my boyfriend... :)

    Dragons Of My Heart

    The dragons of my heart
    ignite the pumps and valves
    That bring forth the strength
To help me through the day.

    But when you come around...
These dragons get sort of dizzy,
    and flutter about,
    like butterflies.
    Making my heart queasy
    and my mind romantic.

    Your fingers interlace with mine,
and the warmth of your skin
is like a sea of fire
    on my palms...

    You cradle my heart,
    putting my dragons to sleep
    with the lullaby of
    your fingers
    running down my stomach.

I'm really diggin' the way you write. You have such a way with words. Beautiful imagery and romance and how he puts you in a love filled trance.

I absolutely love the way you described the way he brings you peace. "You cradle my heart, putting my dragons to sleep with the lullaby of your fingers running down my stomach." I love the metaphors in this piece! Great work, a ten from me. --Natalie.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
