Do I Love You?
Do I love you or not?
I'm never quite sure,
I may be in love with being in love.
Uncertainty shadows my eyes,
coloring the world a dark gray,
masking the lies I tell myself.
Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
