Disappointment
Disappointment hot and bitter,
crashes over me,
in myself and the world.
Torment is my companion,
assaulting me at every turn,
never giving a moments pause.
Bitterness steals my hearts warmth,
icing it over slowly,
piece by piece.
Mistrust prevents happiness,
longing inhibits contentedness,
and jealousy hinders friendships.
All the while I pretend to live life the way I want,
never letting on the way I hide my pain.
Concealing at every turn,
my complete desolation.
