Deep Blue Xmas
After days of struggle, months of bitter toilthe pages of the year falls to a droughty end
at the peak of the winter solistice to mend
promises and friendships given over to foil
Sol is celebrated on the 25th of December
historic lies of a son god weaved from Nimrod
who built Babylon and ruled her with the rod
Queen Semiramis compelles us all to remember
O! Xmas a holiday that we love to celebrate
the lovely myth of dear old Santa Claus
who cloaks Mithras with his Persian cause
whose evergreen gifts we eagerly anticipate
We dare celebrate the birth of our humble saviour
yet neglect his command to celebrate passover
without the pagentry of this blue xmas mitzvah
enriching the rebel king of Babylon with favour
What of the stranger, orphan, widow and the poor?
who stand in the cold holding the key to our rest
let us disregard our empty heads to do our best
mending our ways to approach heavens open door
Celebrate Christ alone lest in you he be found missing
He alone is truly and always the reason for the season
