Conviction

  • No matter how hard I try to let him go, his grasp on my heart is too tight!

Conviction

Loving you definitely was not part of my plan,
And to this day I cannot tell you where it began.
An exciting, pleasurable ride was all we were to be,
Yet now it's my heart in which you hold the key.
I still remember the details of our first sensual kiss,
It was that moment I knew the existence of true bliss.
The look in your eyes and your touch on my skin,
My knees grown weak and my head begins to spin.
You love me not in return,
But your love is all I yearn.
I walked away and said goodbye,
But it was for you, everynight that I would cry.
So here I am once again,
Hoping one day your heart I will win.
You're my chosen drug, my own addiction,
Loving you for life is my conviction.

likes this, your style of writing, a few editing and it would be perfect. for eg. and to this day, I cannot tell you where it all began ---, instead of saying in which you hold the key, use of which you hold the key

sorry to hear, we all go through this, heartbreak, but don't let it break your heart so much, as you will be breaking your own heart. I haven't gotten over my broken marriage, it's good that yours didn't get to where mine got, not that I am saying it is good that you are broken up, but don't let it hurt you to such an extent where you won't be able to concentrate on who your true self is. depends on how old you are, you will bounce back and find a love that will love you for you and have all the things that loving a person should have. I know it's hard, but time heal all wounds, though you love a person, he or she might not love you the same way back. good luck.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
