On This Day
"On this day, I the wed"
These are words we have already said.
Promises to love and cherish the other,
Never needing to be with another.
The be there through the good and the bad,
Never wishing the other to be sad.
To cherish and honor all of our lives,
Hoping no problems would ever arise.
Whole-heartedly these promises we made,
Believing our feelings would never be swayed.
The first day we kissed I will never forget,
At times we should, but feel no regret.
The passion I feel when you are holding me,
In anothers arms I never want to be.
The promises we made, at the time were not in vain,
But to the others how do we explain?
"On this day, I the wed"
Yes these are words we have already said.
Promises we never meant to smother,
but these promises were not made to each other.
