    Betrayal

      Upon a once chance meeting
    perfect white smile fleeting
deepest are the eyes of green
    silken skin of marble sheen
Casual talking leads to moonlit walking
face to face with a lovers embrace
hands clasped together heads held high
the sun forever shining we shall never die
Words of love were spoken true
but acts and deeds gave love another hue
Lies soon fell from flawless lips
    hands that were held together,
    now slide to fingertips
Crystal tears, from a porceline face
once held high now fallen grace
love once born of two hearts spoken
trust was shared and now lies broken
     Shattered dreams of lives entwined
once blessed be now cast aside
Delicate fingers of a silken hand
now are barren of the golden band
     upon reflectioin of pain umbearing
suffer the choice of a life uncarring

thank you very much...obviously i am a soldier but its nice to hear opinions from people besides those i work with..

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
