    Poem Commentary

    I wrote this poem due to it being a year since 9-13-09 when I lost my husband and best friend after we had been 2gether for 13 yrs...I miss him everyday in every way!!!

    A YEAR WITHOUT YOU

     A year without you brings
    Alot of sleepless nights because
    You aren't holding me
    A year without you brings
    Not wanting to watch TV because
    It reminds me of you and me
    A year without you brings
    Not cooking meals because
    that's what we used to eat
    A year without you brings 
    A lot of emotion and heartache
    In the songs I sing
    A year without you brings
    The boys missing you and
    their mood swings
    A year without you brings
    No more you and me
    A year without you brings
    Drinking a lil more and
    more smoking
    A year without you brings
    figuring out who is fake a phony
    A year without you brings
    Me having to create a new beginning
    A year without you brings
    Losing a part of me
    A year without you brings
    Many many days and nights
    alone crying
    A year without you brings
    No one hear to help or
    take care of me
    A year without you brings
    Some days of me feeling
    like I'm dying
    A year without you brings
    Me wishing everyone knew the
    guy that the boys and I had the pleasure
    of knowing
    A year without you brings
    Alot of soul searching
    A year without you brings
    Me trying new things
    A year without you brings
    Missing you everyday and
    Sitting here lonely

    "A year without you brings Me wishing everyone knew the guy that the boys and I had the pleasure of knowing " Ty, this poem is so tragic, yet so beautifully and masterly composed . You have made excellent us of the anaphora- "A Year without you:" and your metrical flow is flawless,as well as your effective choice of diction which expresses your pain and passion marvellously. Thanks for sharing. ...May you continue to be courageous, resilient and forbearing.. ....

    Keep writing and throw yourself into the Poetry.I can believe it is very hard,But You can do it.When I started writing poetry everything came out scrambled and repiticious.It took Me two Years to start writing things started to make sense to me.I never stopped trying thou.Keep writing.God Bless -Black
