My promise to you

My promise to you

When I can't hear your voice where will I turn
What happens when I roll over at night and your touch
and scent is what I yearn
What happens when I forget and the kids need something
and I yell out "babe your turn"
When I'm having a bad day who will bother to be concerned
I guess in life sometimes you get burned
I'll never find another you is what I've learned
I'll always be missing a piece of myself and
inside could never move on
My heart will bleed constantly and I'll feel as if my mind is gone
Always pictured you in my life never thought I would be alone
And you would be gone
I'll vision different points in our relationship in every song
Feeling like there's something better I could have done
Remembering your strength and how you always strived to be #1
That will be the stories I tell our sons
The strength that I watched you have is what will help me stay strong
My life I promise you is dedicated to being a better Person and Mom

THis poem is poignant with the pian and longing of a widowed woman who loves her departed husband. A very touching poem to which must return to write a proper Appreciation, I promise. .Such pain, sorrow and need expressed with much fervency is still rare. My rating for sorrow so well expressed is 10x10.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
