A Fall Morning

Poem Commentary

I love nature

A Fall Morning

I     felt the sun warm the distant autumn hill.

heard the grass frost in the early morning chill.

Two Bucks clash over in Johnson’s field .

Gray Squirrels scurry to gather Oaks nutty yield.

An Eagle screams to be free.

Life is a dream for all to see.

Fall or winter summer spring.

Nature dances nature sings.

Geese in V’s a mile high

point the way due south.

Honks of winter storms to come

murmur from their mouth.

Turkeys fat from summers ease

feed in Henry’s woods.

The old boss Hen knows when dangers near

and alarms her foraging brood.

An old Red Fox with it’s nose to the wind

searches for a mate.

He pounces high to catch mouse

and impresses his foxy date.

Salmon fill streams from which they were spawned

to reproduce and then die.

The first of many winter storms

darken the morning sky.

Life’s shows us different things

teaches us in many ways.

Not everyone see’s everything Beautiful

but tomorrow’s another day!

I found "A Fall Morning" a highly enjoyable read, not only for its lyricism, but also in appreciation for the amount of thought and attention that clearly went into it

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
