You Carry Me
Although my life is falling down around me,
And problems rise, and sadness gets me down;
Here still I sit, alone and under moonlight
Until you comfort me, and cast away your crown.
You carry me, so I may soar o'er oceans
You carry me, so I may cross the sand.
I cannot fall, when you're arms are around me.
You carry me, and then we're hand in hand.
When I traverse the long and lonely desert
And turn around, to see where tracks have laid
Where just one line of footprints says you've left me,
In real truth, 'tis on your back I've stayed.
You carry me, so I may soar o'er islands
You carry me, so I may cross through trees
I still may stand when we are both together,
You carry me, to see what eagles see.
If I were blind, and my eyes had no sight
And must be led through places I have known
And every day, though many things I'd feel
I'd know your hand; for it is like my own.
You carry me, so I may soar o'er white clouds
You carry me, so I may cross the snow,
My legs shan't fall when we still walk together
You carry me, and with you I shall go.
When snowcapped hills are all my feet have trodden,
And still my soul grows weary of the cold
I feel your warm and gentle hug surround me
And touching mine, I feel your heart of gold.
You carry me, so I may soar through heartstrings
You carry me, so I may cross through mind
My heart will live, as long as yours is beating.
You carry me, our heart we have in kind.
