What You've Done

What You've Done

This feeling in my stomach,

It's keeping me awake,

The phone is right near me,

I don't know what's a mistake,

To call and act like you're forgiven,

Because you're lying there in pain,

Or tell you how I really feel,

To help me get through this day

You may not know what you've done,

But it follows me to this day,

How can I say I love you,

When you've throw it all away?

The sun is slowly rising now,

I haven't slept at all,

I need to go about my day,

Just thinking about that call

Is what you've done and who you are,

So easy to push aside?

Because this pain you feel is what I feel,

There's no reason to try and hide

You may not know what you've done,

But it follows me to this day,

How can I say I love you,

When you've throw it all away?

I wonder if you've thought of me,

Lying there alone,

I wonder if it was worth it,

While I'm sitting here at home,

Who's the better person?

Who's running from the shame?

Why is it so hard to say you're sorry?

Why won't you take the blame?

It only took one word,

One step through that door

I wasn't asking for much

Just to be noticed once more

You are hurt yet you recognize the pain in others, you have compassion despite your own pain, I like this one, I have read some of your others but this one really caught at my heart, it's sad but pretty at the same time, I can picture it to music, that's the poetry in it...

A good one. Again a song. You nailed the emotions and te ryhme is good too. I think te correct word thou is "thrown" . You know how to ask the tough questions.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
