One

Do you see how I see?
Through hate and despair,
Like the world has turned it's back on you,
Like there's no one left who cares,
Empty, hurt, and feeling lost,
Through the aching and the tears,
How easy it is to run away,
And hide from all your fears,
It's hard to see the good in life,
Although there's still some there,
You have to search to find the one,
That makes it easier to bare,
Please open my eyes and make me see,
The one who's supposed to be there for me,
Who breaks these chains and sets me free,
Together is how we will always be,
I need you more than ever,
The pain is of being alone,
Is harder than it was before,
So please make yourself known,
I'd be there for you like you would be for me,
Pry open my eyes and make me see,
The chains are now broken and free,
You make me all I want to be

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
