    Voices

A thousand voices in my ear.
    Whispers and screams.
    Such fright full things.
I cannot hide, they are even in my dreams.
They shout, hiss and jeer and screech
    "worthless" they say.
    "whore"
    "begger"
    "filth"
    The voices rise in pitch.
    "bitch"
    "disgrace"
    "sin"
I wished they'd cease, take their darkness and leave me be.
    But they will not.
    They just stay screaming
    Shouting at me, horrid things.
    Growing louder everyday
    They're voices thick,filled with hate.
I close my eyes and fight back tears.
Crawl in bed,and hide there. But still they find me.
    "Coward"
    "Nothing"
    they are here.
Into the night I run in fear, but the voice, they follow; bellowing in my ear.
"Run, run as fast as you can. You can't hide no one can."
