Give to me the muse.

Give to me the muse.

Give to me the muse who's words are golden flame.
Take me muse show me your way.
Muse with rhym and feeling of word show me how to be not tame.
Give to me  muse the freedoms of forever.
Freedoms of life through word no man can write the same.
The bindings of the ordinary finally severed.
Oh sweetest Calliope brang to me her name.

Give to me the muse of the stars.
I beg to unlock theirsecrets.
I want to read them like the gifted centaurs.
I gaze so long at those shining spirits.
That my soul forgets it and it wants to fly up, to soar.
The mother Uranias, the stars are her tears that fell in diamond droplets.

Give to me the muse with the voice of song.
who wakes me from my deepest sleep.
Many years have come and gone forfar to long.
her voice it drifts upon the wind, and so is mine to keep.
Though I try, her song cannot be written and comes out so very wrong.
The words become twisted and jumbled, out of my mind they seep.
Toil and toil long through night and day, and finally, I am finished and I belong.

Give to me the muse of humor.
Who dances and acts and plays so freely.
Who's silliness gives her the oddest sense of valor.
She trapeses acrost medows of beauty.
With a smile she brings to the land an unmatched splendor.
Never to whine or to act snooty.
How I wish I could shine just a tad bit brighter.
How I wish I was so bubbely.
The lady Thalia is so much mightier

Give to me sweet muses
a taste of thy gift.
To give the world the most extream the very edges.
Life would be full and swift.
Hear me sweet Muses?
A taste of thy gift is all that I ask.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
