The Mask

The Mask

Slide the mask upon my face
this disguise my only ace.
I hide away from pain and fear
entrap my every bitter tear.
With this mask I can erase
All the pain that I must face.
A broken girl in a world of night
I cannot win this endless fight.
No emotion can now pass
upon a face made of glass

This is a masterpiece. I will type it again: this is a masterpiece.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
