Voices

Voices scream into my consciousness
Wails of mothers weeping for babes cursed to be born
Lamentations of spirits unbroken by the passions of the lash
Whimpers of daughters writhing at hands with beastly scorn

Shouts of fathers angered by attempts failed to intercede
Cries of those who set themselves against inhuman enemy
Protests of sons revolted with their creed
Sighs of those who took that fatal step off into infinity

Praises of those convinced their salvation's in the sky
Confessions of aspirations beaten by fears
Groans of those who knew the way to go was die
Pleas, begging mercy, fill my ears

Heavenly Father! They implore I appear
A dirge floods the Earth with my tears

Another strong and intense poem. It is obvious that you are a very religious man, your poems are deeply rooted in religious connotations, I enjoy your writings, but feel you should try writing in a different vein. You have a definate talent and should not limit it yourself to a specific style. Don't get me wrong, I am a Fan - I would just like to see something different from you. Another Great Job!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
