God's Lament
And about the time of the end
From the east will blow a mighty wind
Bearing tidings of truth
A benevolent stream
Of words, to bring you home again.
That place so long hoped for
You sing the songs
Pleas of a spirit
Now long since gone.
I heard your spirit - I couldn't relent!
It's all your fault! Why can't you repent!
I warned your fathers! You keep living in sin!
Your gonna find yourselves right back in Egypt again!
And there you are,up to your necks in the mud
Only time it's harder, it's drugs
My brass floors are creaking from the cries getting in
I see dogs living in splendor and cats living in
My poor trees, the flowers, the oceans and seas
Why I understand, I've received a petition from the fleas
I've waited and waited,
Some think much to long
And if I keep on waiting
It'll soon all be gone.
Gone up in smoke!
A fiery hell!
Hurry up! The clocks ticking....
Ding! (strikes the bell)
