Tribute
This is a tribute to a father
From your one and only daughter
Living on without you
Is the hardest thing I've had to do
But you're in my heart to stay
And I miss you more each day
Sometims it's too much to handle
Your life's a blown out candle
But all the pain within me dies
Because I've forgiven all your lies
And the memories start to stir
As I remember who you were...
Someone who'd help out anyone
Someone so full of joy and fun
Someone who'd fish with me all night
Somone who hugged me oh so tight
Someone who'd be there if I cried
I cried so hard the day you died
I wish you were still here
And inside every tear
Are the moments that will never be
The moments made with you and me
Walking me down the aisle
I know we'd go down in style
Watching me grow up
When times are just too tough
Singing rock and roll in the car
Wishing on that shooting star
This is when the pain comes back
When I remember all the times I'll lack
A father to stand by my side
Through life's forever changing tide
I wish you could see
Who I've come to be
I hope you can look down
Onto this small town
Where I'm still living missing you
Feeling that you miss me, too
