The Whole
Maybe life’s not all about wrong or right
Because there’s no single way to live it right
I’m tired of all the ingenious advice
“Live life like this, you can’t do it twice”
Well, I think you’ve got it all wrong
And I don’t want to hear one more song
Telling me don’t have regrets or make mistakes
And the smiles we wear are all just fakes
Because no one can live without regrets
And everyone in life has their own kind of debts
Stop telling me there’s one rule to life
“If you do this, you’ll no longer have strife”
Because it’s not true, it’s so far from fact
And stop whining about what you lack
What I believe is far different from you
But I know in my heart, it’s so very true
You can’t live up to other’s dreams
Your life will come apart at the seams
Life is not a one way street
There’s always other paths you’ll meet
Most people spend their life searching
For love, money, happiness, hoping
That once they find what they’re looking for
Heaven will be just an open door
They pick one thing, to chase all their years
And wonder why they always end up in tears
When they don’t ever reach what they’re looking for
When they never seem to see that open door
Because life’s not about that one end goal
Don’t you see? It’s about the whole
Life is all about living and learning
Not all about searching and yearning
Who really knows right from wrong?
What if we’ve been wrong all along?
In trying to define what life is for all
Maybe that’s our biggest downfall
