The Secret Garden
There is a secret garden
A special place I love to go
It is here multi-colored flowers
Of every kind do grow.
There are daffodils, peonies, lilacs
Trees of many varieties too
Brightly green grass resembling velvet
That becomes heavy with morning dew.
Birds fly and sing in the blue sky
Their presence adding to my solitude
And, the tranquility of beauty surrounding
Changes my outlook and my attitude.
Mountains appear in majestic grandeur
Reminding me of Heavenly design and creation
Not made by man’s thoughts or hands
Rather, by Heavenly Divine formation.
I sit upon my wooden bench
Head bowed in patient expectation
Asking my friend to come and meet me there.
My heart beating with love and adoration.
I know He will come -
My Redeemer---my bridegroom
To share wisdom and secrets from Heaven
So like a rose, I will continue to bloom.
Suddenly, footprints are touching my heart
A voice so softly and tenderly does speak.
“I am here at a moment’s beckoned call.
I know it is Heavenly answers that you seek.
For hours, we commune and fellowship,
Into the darkness of night so deep
I leave refreshed, energized, at peace
Knowing again in the garden we will meet.
A special place I love to go
It is here multi-colored flowers
Of every kind do grow.
There are daffodils, peonies, lilacs
Trees of many varieties too
Brightly green grass resembling velvet
That becomes heavy with morning dew.
