The Mask
Can you see it?
The mask I hold
before myself.
Can you see past it?
Look into my pleading eyes
into my soul.
Can you feel it?
Feel the vile pain
that was brought upon me.
Can you hear it?
My soundless cries
shrieking for help.
Can you taste it?
Taste the iniquitous poison
that this world nourished me with.
The mask covers it all.
