    The lady of shalott

    I’m going away

I long the taste of freedom

    The wind blows

     My candles go out

My hair flowing in the breeze

    This boat will take me

    To find wonderful discoveries

I push off and slowly move forward

But these weeds are holding me back

    From moving away

    I look to the future

To the adventures I will have

And the stories I will tell

When I’m older and much more wise

I’m moving forward to new things

Letting my memory of the past

    Fade slowly

But no matter how much I’ve thought it through

And no matter how much I’ve wanted this

I just can’t seem to let go.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
