    Fading Fast

    Fading fast.
Thinking of you use to hurt,
    Use to cut so deep.
But now that things are fading fast,
Maybe I can get some sleep.
I use to wake up in the night
    Thinking you would be there.
But as I come back to reality,
I realize that you don’t care.
Laying awake at two in the morning,
    Staring at the wall.
I see the roses hanging there
And my tears start to fall.
I think back when I got them
And how they use to be.
Back when they were full of life.
    Back when you loved me.
But now that things are fading fast
And no longer cut so deep
I’ll dry my tears and close my eyes
And slowly fall back to sleep.

    thanks again

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
