The Darkness
Sitting there, alone, afraid, wondering when will I get out. Scared, tempted, trying not to cry out.
Dark, quiet, no where to go. Can't get out, stuck inside this empty, black box.
There are no windows or doors, just four walls and no scores. Can anybody hear me?! Is anyone out there?!
There in the corner, sit this little girl, firmilar, strange, and alone. Tears in her eyes, wishing she was free.
Trying to tell the world all that she see. Why do you look so fimilar, why do you seem so shy?
Wanting so badly to see the sky, to cry out to it, to make things right, to find a way out, before tonight.
We can help each other, only if we try. If we try hard enough, we might be able to fly.
This darkness is starting to take over, its starting to sink in, where do we go, where do we begin.
Finally, there is this light, growing inside the dark, afraid to go towards it, afraid to fall apart.
We both walk together, hand in hand. A door opens, there stands a man. He said: "take my hand and I'll make you whole. Trust in me and I will behold, upon you this day a glorious way for you to stay."
We take his hand and out we come, but then I look back and the little girl was gone. I asked who was she, where did she go?
She was you, alone and afraid so. Together at last, one mind, one soul. Now to take on the world as a whole.
