    That Fire...

Tall, strong, and gorgeous with eyes as mighty as a lion-
I ain't got to say it, you feel it yourself- and know you got that fire.
Many women you will have- and they fall prey to the wish they carry down deep...
"Please, make this man mine- This one... I wish to keep".
They soon find out their wish is just that- a call upon deaf ears-
He is not a man with a selfish view for his wishes are to share.
Don't be mad at the giving man- just recognize this to be true-
He was given all that fire to spread to many- not just you.
Look and admire- touch with caution- enjoy but never own...
That fire spreads to fast for you to put out all alone.
That fire will spread as far as it can and destroy the hearts of many...
    1 night here... another there...
The hearts afire will be plenty.
Yet, and still we will always find the fire is made to die out with time...
The once strong and mighty will fall to years and be overtaken by his own tears.
Looks are not given forever- youth is not our eternal treasure...
That fire looks hott at the beginning of time- but a heart of ash is less divine.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
