Poem Commentary

/: Hazel eyes. His hazel eyes. They lied.

Sneaky Hazel Eyes

The cold fall breeze hits my golden skin
 Tiny bumps shall appear soon
Shivering; soft sobs escape my lips
As they become blue
Cold, salty tears flow down my face in a rush
Soon to be frozen like my breath
Oh dear, you’ve made it hard for me to trust
Open up and to be taken for granted
Staring hazel eyes
They took me by surprise
My plain brown just hid my disguise
Happiness, it is
I stand up to soon fall down
The sun shows but the moon surrounds.. Everything
The shadow I stare at for days and days
They remind me of the beautiful hazel eyes, I trust
It’s telling me I’m soon to be
Just a speck of dust
And a lost memory..

Freaking beautiful, dear. ♥ You just get better and better. :D

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
