    Satisfied

    As I walk
    along this road
    I feel the cold
of the darkness that surrounds me
    I have found nothing
    that seems to satisfy
    There have only been
    broken hearts
    and tear-stained shirts
    I look to the sky
    I see dark clouds
    no sunlight to be found
    my only companion
the wind that chills my bones
I find no joy on this path
    yet I have walked
    for years and years
    in what seems like
    a never ending circle
    I am always ending up
    right back where I started
    but thoughts begin to creep
    into my mind
    thoughts of a different path
where there is only sun and warmth
    I look ahead and see
    a fork in the road
    and now, I can choose
the wide path that I now roam on
or the narrow one on which no one treads
    Both seem the same
but I look to the narrow path
    and see a man
    bathed in light
    further ahead of me
I look to the wide road
and all I see is a black abyss
    I begin to walk
the pull of the wide road
    is strong
but my stride is full of determination
I walk away from the pull
and I see the man again
I have an urge to run
    so I do
    I run and run
I find that I never grow tired
as I did on my other path
    I reach the man
and I fall to my knees
    the light is blinding
but I feel a hand on my shoulder
    "you are loved"
    Three simple words
    I am filled with joy
    all fear is cast out
    and I feel the warmth
    that my thoughts
    before had filled my mind
    now it was true
    and I could feel it
    not just imagine it
no more doubt was consuming me
    no guilt and shame
I find the happiness that I have always wanted
    I have found my friend
    My Savior
    I am Satisfied

this is very good, especially for someone so young. Many deep insights

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
