Redemption

Sitting in a corner
with my hands curled in my chest

Hopeless to stand
back up and face my newest quest

Blinding light right
outside my door

But I cant seem to
stand back up and see what is in store

.. ..

I refuse to use a
crutch I have to do this on my own

Im sorry I will not
count on you I have to be alone

Its my life I have to
set straight

So I don’t regret
before its too late

.. ..

And now the showdown
begins as I push myself up the wall

I make no more
excuses no more reasons for me to stall

I reach the arch of
the doorway and there I finally stand

I take my final step
to freedom and take life back in my hands

Sincerely,

Shadow

nice man

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
