Questionable Emotion
Questionable emotion...
Is there really any devotion?
Or is this just some distracting commotion?
Or maybe it’s everlasting like the ocean.
I look into your eyes,
And they speak words so conspicuous,
But the message is ill-defined.
The words are so ambiguous.
First they say, “I love you”,
A message so endearing.
Then, I see confusion and block it
Because that’s the message I’m fearing.
Questionable emotion...
Is there really any devotion?
Or is this just some distracting commotion?
Or maybe it’s everlasting like the ocean.
We lie in each other’s arms,
Glimpsing at one another’s effervescent smiles.
We profess our love for one another.
The emotions could run on for miles.
Then, comes the argument.
Both of our minds begin to wander.
Is this really meant to be?
Or are we fooling ourselves? We ponder.
Questionable emotion...
Is there really any devotion?
Or is this just some distracting commotion?
Or maybe it’s everlasting like the ocean.
Sometimes, we’re forced to choose.
Who’ll hurt this time? Me or you?
How’ll this disagreement end?
How’ll the next one begin?
We have a love that does more than just suffice.
We love each other, so we sacrifice.
Sometimes loving each other hurts so we embale.
So is it anger or love that causes our hearts to swell?
Questionable emotion...
Is there really any devotion?
Or is this just some distracting commotion?
Or maybe it’s everlasting like the ocean.
The only way to find out is to let the love grow,
Or let the pain continue and see where it goes.
And when enough is enough
And soon becomes too much
Listen to a kiss’s message.
That message will either say nothing or too much.
Is there really any devotion?
Or is this just some distracting commotion?
Or maybe it’s everlasting like the ocean.
I look into your eyes,
