    Portrait of a Man

They say a picture is worth a thousand words,
Even the picture of a man.
    Unbroken yet battered,
    Torn and tattered.
    Persevering through trials.
    Focussed through triumph.
Understanding the size of the battle is great,
Keeping his eye on the prize.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words,
The man is worth so much more in my eyes.
