    Monday at Aldi

I saw her the other day
    Smiling with her new man
    Walking hand in hand.
    I try to pretend
    It was the groceries
Causing her not to notice me.

    Love, no more.
If it was only that easy,
Like a switch i could turn
    Then no longer feel,
    Escape the down side.
    Aldi has shown me
    I still love her.

    Midnight conversations,
    Lasting till dawn.
    Holding hands on her futon,
    Ignoring everything else going on.
I was her mountain of a man
and she moved me to tears.

"I was her mountain of a man and she moved me to tears." — beautiful, simple beautiful! Your honesty and humbleness is a blessing to this site.

This seems forced. The last section should be deleted imo. I understand where you are trying to go but the extra stuff takes away from the message.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
