Biography

A "few" years ago, I was born in Arizona. Being in a military family we traveled, a lot. After graduating high school, I traveled some more, eventually settling back in New Mexico.
I LIKE IT HERE. They don't call it the Land of Enchantment for nothing. We have all four seasons: a little wet, a lotta white, a gentle breeze and it's rather hot. We have mountains (really we do, they are part of the Rocky Mountain range) We have desert, we have lakes (but you have to travel a bit to get there) There are big cities and small rural towns. Many famous Hollywood movies have been done in our humble state, with some of the 'crew' coming back to live permanently. What is my favorite part? The sunrises and sunsets. With my work schedule, sometimes I'm awake to see both in the same day.
I have been writing poems since 6th grade and have actually written a science fiction book. Haven't got all the input for a book of poems, but maybe soon. I have recently met a fellow who has inspired me to continue writing as it comes so easily just thinking about him, you can read about him in my poems here. Everyone at work knows when he's on my mind, I tend to smile more. Generally I cannot be told to write a poem, it doesn't work that way, does it? It just comes to me when I least expect it, that's why I always have a pen and paper with me.
OK, bio: I'd like to introduce myself and tell you all about my life. I'm older than most, been coast to coast, the mother of two, and I'm a new wife. I work in retail, outside the home, but I'm still a domestic engineer. I like sunflowers and ladybugs, rodeos and NASCAR, and became an author, did you hear? My son joined the Navy, and travels the sea. My daughter birthed a son and made a Grandmother of me. I moved to a new state 'of being' in my mind. Happiness is the city I'll call home for a time. As I sit on my patio and view the evening sky, I can't help but chuckle, What a lucky person am I.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
