Phantom of the Opera
Little one,
a mother’s love-
gentle caresses of innocence.
Musically lifted
notes of heaven
entreat the baby’s cry.
Hidden deep
within the recesses,
secluded from the light of day.
Looking outwards,
never accepted:
embittered by a cursed fate.
Lonely empty,
he envisions
love that elusively
evades his grasp.
From a mother’s shelter
he is taken;
his sanity slips away,
and only the darkness remains.
Retreat into the abyss of madness,
nourished by hopeless disparate dreams-
till the voice of an Angel
frees him from
eternal grief.
Angelic musical alliteration
filled with heavenly mastery.
Love and admiration envisioned
or jealousy formed
from obsessive need.
Take from this world
this enchantress.
seclude her within a spectre's tomb.
Cage and contain
a beautiful songbird
taken from her home.
Lonely child-
take this treasure
to soothe you in your solitude;
free this bird of music,
from beravement's gloom.
Broken wings heal
Unlike that of the heart:
grief and loneliness
rip it apart.
Silently
he merges into death's waiting arms:
peace oh anguished Phantom heart.
