In This Dream I Wonder
Is it wrong for oneto admit they are afraid?
-have doubts
from which to draw
the strength to face;
all tomorrows to come?
Weak to acknowledge
misgivings in the decisions;
future paths wind so far
into distant possibilities.
Am I alone with my doubts?
Am I alone with my fears?
Pray I, it not be so-
this world has lost
all conceivable understanding
to the singularly induced rhythm
of a beating heart;
unsure of where
to place a step
into what could be-
eternity?
Care not the consequences,
damn the mind;
is this all there is
from the passage of time?
Little wonder,
imagination's flow;
lost, afraid-alone?
Can it not be
the future holds
much more than this;
my nightmarish folds
into my heart,
my mind and soul;
as the tears flow,
flow into the sea.
Dream this,
my spirit seeks to free
me from the blindness;
persecute not
those who decree;
this life's worth
in one can seek:
open the gates
into peaceful bliss;
heaven calls,
angels sing;
rest and doubt no more!
Welcome life
and accept death
as but one more ladder to climb:
one more path to unfold.
