    Poem Commentary

    Just a fanasy i had

    On This Night

    On this night
    Its just me and  you
    With the stars shining down
and the light of the moon
    The sound of the water
    As it flows nearby
    I pull my jacket tighter
As a cool breeze blows by
    You pull me close
    As you block the wind
I bury my face in your chest
Oh god is this a sin
    Then you  lift my head
    To look in your eyes
    You say its okay
    Everything will be alright
    For  I have you now
Even if its only for tonight
Cause right now you are perfect
    Everything I always wanted
So our lips touch  and we kiss
    Knowing tomorrow isn’t promised
So each other we won’t miss
    Tonight will be forever burned
In our memory and our hearts
    Tonight we found each other
    After all this time
    Tonight is all we have
Pretend to be the man I always wanted
    On this night

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
