Take me back to those days

Take me back to the days
    When people believed in chivalry
Being a good man was a goal
Take me back to the days when children were a gift
When nature was a playground for them
Where innocence left of its own will
Take me back to the days
When women could raise there children
And being a good mother and wife was important
    Where it was appreciated
It seems to me in man quest for equality, change
We forgot that some things, ought not to have been
Life become easier but necessarily better
So take me back to those days
Or did they ever really exist

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
