OLD AGE
OLD AGE
A lady of about sixty years old
Sat at the road side beneath
The lamp post opens a parcel of
Food got from a hotel opposite
She started her pathetic words
As old age is very difficult to live
No one can help even son or daughter
No shelter to live
Her hair white in look
She has no proper dress to cover
Her body, it seems months together
Lost the habit of cleaning her teeth
Someone may give a help at the gate way
Of church a little money to buy food like
To feed her hunger a little
That too she cannot eat fully
As she will keep a part of the food for
Feeding in the next session to keep away hunger
She asked me how older are you?
She started guessing above seventy?
I added that you may be correct
Then she closed the parcel without eating
And said that she may spoiled the floor
Can go to a shed and have the food
She added that Christians are good
As they help others as friend and relations
Sometimes they give food and shelter
Treat old persons with their grace
It is a pleasure to talk to her
And added that I love Jesus
Immediately she asked me
Are you a Christian? I told her
No.., but like Christians as they are
Mostly honest and adopting a good
System of living followed with
Disciplines of Jesus
She was happy to hear my voice
And her face was a bloomed flower
She has shared her little time with me
And it is a good memorable one
Though she is an older woman
She is longing for her sons and
Daughters and departed life partner
Friends and relatives
She said that old age is very hard
To live, it is still ringing in my
Ears and mind and made to thing
About this old age
