Festival at Native Temple (Parivettai) -1
Festival at Native Temple
(Parivettai) (1)
It is a long way towards southern side
Of native town, as got into a bus
That was nearing after whole night
Journey
At a little far off distance
It is of the sight that the stars
Are all twinkling on the earth?
The wind is very chill
That is blowing from sea side
Sky is still dark in blue
Stars are merging in and diminished
Though it is of new moon day
Now on the earth my village-town looks
Like a hanging garden
As all the stars are migrated
To this place
On either side of the road
One can see tall palm trees
As if they are welcoming us
To this village
We can see the palm trees
On and around the field
Which are self-growing’s?
No need of feeding water
That has season’s rain fall help
The land to grow trees - We have to say
The farmers of the village has to see
The sky for watery rain
Yes it looks like a paradise
To me and this is a festival day
Maha shiva rathiri, devoted to
Lord Shiva Hindu god
Persons related to this place
As they are known by the village’s
Name and family tradition all are gathered
In the temple for seven days festival
This village is very little of family
Who are living – now related to this
Village who are migrated to various
Towns used to come here to join festival
This village is called Keelaeral naming
Two banyan trees very great old
One can see at the southwestern side
Of the place with due honor
It is now more than lakh are participating
In the third day festival called Parivettai
Morning to next morning most willingly
Without noticing troubles and discomforts
The gathering is so huge at the temple
Taking bath and washing are not a problem
Everything is taken care even the food to eat
Shelters too
This is temple of Goddess Kamakshi – skathi
With no statue to worship
One brass metal lamp with five beaks in equal
Directions is lighted with thread and oil
Light is the spreading from the lamp is for
Our worship and it is very nice too as it is
Taken care only by the Guru who is taken the
Position by the acceptance of the goddess
Guru is called as Poosari hailed from the Poosari
Family by tradition and this present Guru has
Come as the tenth person
And doing all the rites and every other things
Those are followed by his previous gurus
Without a sign of fault or flaw
As he is the key person of the temple
And he will do the Parivettai on the head
