That stranger in the mirror,
Staring back at you,
Eyes so strange,
They reveal nothing.
Searches for answers,
Come up short,
Only leading to more questions,
A vicious cycle.
That person,
Thing,
Follows your movements,
Or do you follow Its?
Lost in thought,
You lose yourself,
As you always do,
But no wishes to change it.
That stranger speaks,
Words so cruel,
Words of truth,
Words you need to hear.
It commands you,
That feeling,
One so deep,
Not even you can get rid of it.
Try with your might,
You will never escape it,
The past that haunts you,
The memories that plague your mind.
Maybe one day,
You can walk away,
From the mirror you hide behind,
And know who that stranger is.
