My Walls

My Walls

My walls are still standing, sure and true,
What happens when they break?
I only wish I knew.
I can see the cracks, though they are small;
Still, they're showing, as if these barriers are predestined to fall.
The waves beat upon them, making a distinct sound;
Only time can tell when they'll come crashing to the ground.
I try with all my will to hold them up high,
But there's something inside me that keeps asking, "Why?"
I sit and wonder where I'll be when it's all through.
I just pray that I'll find that all my inner restlessness has cleared a way to you!
