    My Perfect Love

    When I close my eyes,
    I can see your face,
    feel your touch,
    it's warm embrace.

    When I fall asleep,
    you're all I dream about,
    alive in my heart,
    with me in thought.

    We've never even met,
    but we're so alike,
    and so far apart,
each of us is far away.

    We feel so alone,
    but with many friends,
    you'd think us happy,
but it's only a means to an end.

    We laugh,
    we cry,
    we live,
    we die.

    A means to an end,
or is it just a lie.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
